Malba is a upper middle-class neighborhood in the New York City borough of Queens.A small area on the waterfront home to some of the largest and most expensive private houses in New York City Malba is bounded to the north by the East River, to the east by the Whitestone Expressway, to the south by 15th Avenue, and to the west by 138th Street. Its name is derived from the first letters of the surnames of its five founders. Malba is considered part of Whitestone. Currently, Whitestone is one of the most affluent communities in Queens. Demographically, the population is mostly caucasian of European heritage (Irish, Italian, Russian, and Greek) with a small minority of Asians. Most of the residential properties in Malba are large homes. The neighborhood is part of Queens Community District 7, served by Queens Community Board 7.[1]
